Small Pleasures @ Propeller Gallery, Toronto

‘Senses of Mell’ introduces us to an Apis mellifera, or Western Honeybee, as she journeys across the nectarous surface of an Echinacea. With each delicious step, her antennae seek out the next sweet perfume, the nearest golden nugget and yet another taste of sugary bliss.

In ‘Tepi’s Pride’ we meet a Parasteatoda tepidariorum, or Common House Spider, as she eagerly awaits the arrival of several hundred babies. Pointing up at her suspended egg sack, the bright eyes and cheery grin adorning her abdomen seem to reflect her maternal pride and excitement.

Both images are 9x13in and are framed in brushed black metal with a white mat. Show closes March 23.
